Types of Waste

Renova Waste Processing has permanent installation and operating licenses issued by Cetesb, the environmental supervising agency in the State of São Paulo. With this, it is duly authorized to receive and process industrial factory waste that contains iron or aluminum in its composition, including the hazardous ones from classes I and II.

The main industrial wastes processed by the company are:

• Grinding Sludge
• Blankets, papers, burlap, and filtered fabric
• Lapidating Sludge
• Burnishing Sludge
• Electric Discharge Machining Sludge
• Iron dust
• Blasting powder
• Iron scale
• Contaminated sand and sawdust contaminated with oil
• Diatomaceous Earth
• Waste that contains iron in its composition.

As an environmental standard, Renova only receives waste for its proper treatment with the industrial waste disposal authorization certificate issued by the State’s environmental agency.

Renova Waste Processing also has a laboratory for analyses of all types of wastes that it receives, complying with established evaluation criteria.

Waste Processing

Renova Waste Processing uses the best technique currently available in the market to process the solid industrial wastes that it receives. The technique is considered the most efficient because it transforms the material resulting from the waste treatment process into raw material, which can be reused, for example, in the principal operations of steel mills.

The processing is performed by thermal destruction of the contaminating items present in the solid waste, such as oil. This material is first sent to boxes specifically for storage, and after some separation processes, it is sent to a rotating drying oven, which transforms the material resulting from the waste treatment process into raw material for other industries.

All the materials resulting from the waste processing has an ecologically correct final destination. Even the gas generated in the process of separating the oil from the waste undergoes a treatment process, in an post burner, which operates at a temperature of 1,200 degrees and serves to burn precisely this gas that is generated, which exits this process without the organic compounds that could contaminate the air.

Periodically, with the help from the responsible environmental agency, Renova collects the final gas for analysis and testing of the treatment process efficiency.

Requirements for Transportation

Renova Waste Processing complies with all the safety regulations established in Laws, and thus has a fleet of its own vehicles adapted to receive and transport, with the necessary precautions, the solid waste from industries.

In addition to vehicles prepared specifically for this type of transportation, Renova adopts a series of preventive safety measures, such as a contract with companies that provide the emergency services in case of problems with the vehicles.

With initiatives such as this, Renova Waste Processing increases safety in the transportation and minimizes risks.

Learn about some other measures adopted by Renova to guarantee safety in the transportation of solid industrial waste:

• Certification of qualification to transport hazardous waste issued by Inmetro.
• License plates with UN numbers and Risk Labels, according to NBR 7500.
• Envelopes and emergency records for the transported waste, according to regulations NBR 7503, NBR 7504, and NBR 8285.
• Transportation manifest of industrial waste and identification of hazardous waste, according to regulation NBR 13221.
• Drivers specially trained for transporting hazardous waste, and with proper certification - MOPE.

Final Destination

After undergoing safe and efficient processing, the solid industrial wastes received by Renova Waste Processing are transformed into raw material for other companies, concluding a cycle of recycling and reuse.
The oily emulsion resulting from the waste treatment process, for example, is also destined for reuse in another company.
